Free AI SEO Tools

AI SEO tools on Scrawl test US SERP snapshots, robots.txt access for AI crawlers, llms.txt structure, and on-page extractability — without calling ChatGPT or Gemini inside the tool. They report what a fetch or parser sees; they do not guarantee citations or AI Overview placement.

What these tools can and cannot see

They look at public signals: a logged-out US SERP snapshot, robots.txt lines for known AI crawlers, an llms.txt file you build or validate, and on-page structure such as headings, schema, and extractable text. The AI Overview checker reports whether that snapshot contained an overview and which domains were cited. It does not call ChatGPT or Gemini. A citation in one snapshot is not a ranking, and a missing overview can be the query, the location, or a blocked SERP.

The GEO score is a 0–100 read of how extractable that URL's HTML looks. It does not predict that an assistant will quote the page. If the question is whether a crawler is allowed to fetch the URL, start with the AI crawler checker. If the question is what a bot actually requested, parse an access log in the browser with the AI bot log analyzer. The file stays on your machine. People Also Ask returns questions from a US snapshot for a keyword you type. llms.txt is optional: generate it from a sitemap you already trust, read it, and upload it yourself. None of these tools publish files to your host.

A practical order when a page is not being cited: confirm the URL is indexable with the technical checkers, then confirm AI crawlers are not blocked in robots.txt, then read the GEO score for extractable structure, then look at a SERP snapshot for the query you care about. Topical coverage, from the sitemap sample, tells you whether the site has more than one page on the subject. It does not measure how often those pages rank.

Logs and robots.txt answer different questions, and mixing them up wastes a day. robots.txt is the rule you published. The log analyzer is the user-agent string that actually requested a URL, with the status your server returned. A disallow for GPTBot does not prove the bot received a 403 if a firewall answered first, and a 200 in the log does not prove the HTML was useful to extract. Read both, on the same URL, before you change the file.
