Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Scrawl (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit scrawl.tools and use the free SEO tools provided here. Effective date: May 29, 2026.
1. Who we are
Scrawl operates at scrawl.tools and provides a free suite of browser-based SEO tools — bulk redirect checkers, broken link finders, schema validators, Core Web Vitals testers, and more. No account is required to use any tool. You can reach us at hello@scrawl.tools or via the Contact page.
2. Information we collect
Scrawl is designed to minimize the personal data we handle. We do not require accounts or email addresses to use any tool. The categories of data we process are:
Usage & analytics data
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), deployed via Google Tag Manager (container ID: GTM-MNM8RH47), to collect aggregate data about how visitors use the Site — pages visited, time on page, device type, browser, approximate geographic location (country/region level), and session data. This data is used to understand which tools are most valuable and how to improve the Service. Google Analytics uses cookies and other tracking technologies. The data collected is processed by Google under their own privacy policy.
Tool input data
When you use a tool, the URL, text, or file you submit is sent to our servers to be processed and the result returned to you. scrawl.tools does not store submitted URLs or audit results on its servers beyond the lifetime of your request. We do not build profiles from tool inputs, associate them with device identifiers, or share them with third parties for any purpose other than returning your result.
Cookies & similar technologies
We use cookies for analytics (Google Analytics 4) and advertising (Google AdSense, including the DoubleClick DART cookie). You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings — see Section 6 for details. Disabling cookies will not prevent you from using any SEO tool on this Site.
Contact form data
If you submit a message via the Contact page, we receive the email address and message content you provide solely in order to respond to you. This data is not shared with third parties, is not used for marketing, and is retained only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry.
Server log data
Our hosting infrastructure automatically records standard server logs — IP address, user agent, request timestamp, and path requested. Logs are retained for up to 30 days for security, abuse prevention, and debugging purposes only.
3. How we use information
We use the data described above only for the following purposes:
- →To operate the SEO tools and return results to you.
- →To measure aggregate usage (via GA4) and improve the tools and user experience.
- →To serve advertising that keeps the Service free — see Section 5.
- →To respond to messages you send through the Contact page.
- →To protect the Site from abuse, scraping, and security threats using server logs.
4. Google Analytics 4
This Site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. GA4 is loaded via Google Tag Manager (container ID: GTM-MNM8RH47). GA4 collects information about your use of the Site — pages you visit, how long you stay, what device and browser you use, and your approximate location — and transmits it to Google servers where it is stored and processed.
Google uses this data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy. You can learn more about how Google Analytics uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also disable GA4 cookies in your browser settings (see Section 6).
5. Google AdSense & advertising
This Site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense is an advertising service provided by Google LLC. Advertising revenue is what allows scrawl.tools to remain free for all users.
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — to serve ads on this Site based on your visits here and on other sites across the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to scrawl.tools and other sites on the internet. Third-party ad networks may also use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your browsing activities in order to provide interest-based advertising.
You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:
- →Visit Google Ads Settings to manage or opt out of personalized ads from Google.
- →Visit aboutads.info for the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool.
- →EU users may also use Your Online Choices to manage interest-based advertising preferences.
For more information on how Google uses data from advertising, see policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
6. Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. Scrawl uses the following categories of cookies:
- →Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics 4 to measure Site usage. These include the _ga, _ga_*, and related cookies.
- →Advertising cookies — set by Google AdSense and the DoubleClick ad network to serve and measure personalized advertisements.
You can disable or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. In Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. In Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security → Cookies. Disabling non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to use the SEO tools on this Site.
7. Third-party links
The Site and its tools may contain links to external websites not operated by Scrawl. These links are provided for reference only. We have no control over the content or privacy practices of external sites and are not responsible for them. Visiting an external link is subject to that site's own privacy policy.
8. Data security
All traffic between your browser and scrawl.tools is encrypted via HTTPS. We apply reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect the limited data we process. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We retain server logs for a maximum of 30 days and do not store tool inputs beyond the life of each request.
9. Children's privacy
Scrawl is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us at hello@scrawl.tools and we will delete the data promptly.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- →Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- →Correction — request that inaccurate data be corrected.
- →Deletion — request that your data be deleted where we have no legal obligation to retain it.
- →Opt-out — withdraw consent for non-essential cookies and personalized advertising at any time (see Sections 4 and 5).
- →CCPA — California residents may request to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the Contact page or at hello@scrawl.tools.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, applicable law, or our data practices. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will note it prominently on the homepage. Continued use of the Site after a change is posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Contact
Questions or requests about this Privacy Policy may be directed to us via the Contact page or by email at hello@scrawl.tools.
